Mike and his family lived in Trussville for 25 years, where he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce, working closely with the city on planning and development. Trussville’s unmanaged growth caused many long-time residents to move out of the city they once thought would be their home forever. Mike and his family moved to Chelsea about 9 years ago, where they found that “small town feel” again, and wanted this to be their forever home town. Recent years have shown the city of Chelsea taking on some of the same signs of mismanaged growth (ie: attempts to privatize schools, too many car wash locations, urgent cares and repeat fast food chains.) -- Lack of common sense. And most importantly, a lack of transparency and no willingness to work with the citizens of Chelsea to find out what YOU, the community wants and needs.
